TRENTON ROTARY CONTINUES TO SERVE THOSE IN NEED

On August 7th, the Trenton Rotary Club once again joined forces with the Salvation Army Mobile Canteen to help provide food, clothing, and a helping hand to people in need throughout our community. Even though the heavens opened up about halfway through the evening, our volunteers didn’t let the rain stop them from carrying out their mission. Thanks to some good rain gear, the team was able to keep going and serve 154 meals at four different locations.

The evening’s meal included Hamburger Helper with Rice, Green Beans, Diced Pears, a Brownie or Cookie, and Ice Cold Water. Along with the meals, the team also distributed 112 pairs of socks, providing another important resource to people who are facing difficult circumstances.

On the Mobile Canteen were Rick Lazarick, Robyn Gilyard, Juliet Gilyard, Quincy Gilyard, and Charlie Parkerson. We would also like to thank Robyn Gilyard for baking the delicious brownies and Emily Logue for providing the cookies for the evening.

Nights like this are a great reminder of what community service is all about. The Trenton Rotary Club is proud to work alongside the Salvation Army and its Mobile Canteen to reach people where they are and provide a warm meal, essential items, and a little kindness when it is needed most. Rain or shine, we will continue to show up and serve our community.
