The Trenton Rotary Club proudly welcomed members of the Trenton High School Interact Club at its latest meeting, highlighting a meaningful exchange between established community leaders and the next generation of changemakers.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for Rotarians to connect with local students, share perspectives on service, and witness firsthand the enthusiasm these young leaders bring to their community. During the meeting, Interact Club members introduced themselves and shared their post-graduation plans, including the colleges they will soon attend.
Students also spoke in depth about the impact of their club’s service initiatives. Their efforts include organizing weekly Monday recycling programs, coordinating “Wrapping Utensils Day” for community events, participating in the Breast Cancer Walk, planting trees, and supporting Relay for Life. These initiatives demonstrate a strong commitment to service and a growing sense of civic responsibility among the students.
The Rotary Club extended its sincere thanks to the Interact students for attending and sharing their experiences, and wished them continued success in their academic and professional journeys.
Special recognition was also given to Mike Yaris, faculty advisor for the Trenton High School Interact Club, for his ongoing support and guidance in fostering student leadership and community involvement.
In addition to celebrating local impact, the meeting also highlighted Rotary’s global reach. Members recorded a congratulatory video message for the Rotary Club of Omiya, Japan, in honor of their 70th anniversary, further strengthening international ties and shared values of service above self.
The event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of mentorship, collaboration, and the enduring mission of Rotary to make a difference both locally and around the world.
