Despite the chilly weather on Friday, the Trenton Rotary had a rewarding evening working alongside the Trenton Salvation Army to serve our community. Together, we distributed 100 hearty meals, featuring Chicken, Meatball & Bean Stew, accompanied by a choice of Brownies or Cookies and bottled water. In addition to nourishing meals, we provided essential winter items to help those in need, including 18 blankets, 36 pairs of socks, 17 pairs of gloves, 15 hats, and 5 scarves, across four different locations coordinated with the Salvation Army.
The Rotary Canteen was staffed by dedicated members John Murphy, Fred Mangino, Christine Secrist, Nishna Gogineni, Bhargavi Gogineni, and Charlie Parkerson, ensuring each guest was greeted warmly and served efficiently. Special thanks go to the Florence High School Interact Club, who generously baked the brownies, and to Anthony Maimone, who provided the cookies.
This collaboration with the Trenton Salvation Army allowed us to maximize our outreach and provide both food and warmth to more members of the community. Even on a cold night, the spirit of service and partnership shone brightly, demonstrating how working together can make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.
