The Rotary Club of Trenton proudly partnered with The Salvation Army to support its Canteen Ministry, working together to provide meals and essential items to those in need throughout the city. On Friday evening, our team served 137 hot meals of chicken thighs and legs, beans, and water, along with cookies or Rice Krispies Treats, at four locations. In addition, we distributed 100 pairs of socks, 30 blankets, 72 hygiene kits, and one toy.
Serving on the Canteen were John Murphy, Fred Mangino, Christian Ciron, and Charlie Parkerson. Cookies were baked by Alicia Morrison, and Rice Krispies Treats were generously provided by Chris Sevrist.
The Salvation Army’s Trenton Canteen Ministry operates a mobile food truck every Friday, preparing meals at the Trenton Citadel on East State Street and delivering both nourishment and connection to neighborhoods in need. Beyond the Canteen, The Salvation Army also offers a weekly food pantry at the Citadel on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., as well as general assistance during weekday office hours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with ID and proof of residence required for many services.
